Anyone who’s ever used a Mac is likely super familiar with this image; the macro shot of a dainty little ladybug crawling along a leaf. However, I’m pretty sure the great majority passed it on with nary a second glance, far too quickly to notice this most important detail:
LADYBUG TOES. Which are, quite frankly, the best toes ever.
These horrifyingly adorable little f*ckers are “momonga”, Japanese dwarf flying squirrels. Everything about that phrase is amazing and shouldn’t all exist in one sentence like that. Japanese (purveyor of all cute things) dwarf (small = adorable) flying squirrel (already cute to begin with). Put them all together and it’s like the Voltron of cute. I just want to ball them up in my fist, all of them, and SQUEEEEZZZEEE oh God
Yes, yes, another birdy ball. My favorite things in the world haha I was browsing google for some reference images of … something… I don’t even remember what I was looking for, and somehow ended up finding this. It was so instantaneous between seeing and knowing its perfection that I think this post wrote itself.
I just wanna stuff this little guy into my mouth and eat him. LORD it’s so CUTE. It’s like a mammalian Woolly Bear caterpillar. With little paws. Just ignore the weird noises made by the camera person, and the experience will be perfect.
That’s totally what this bear looks like it’s saying. AAHAHAHA THAT FACE. He has such a “Booooooooooggggg….. aww, c’mon guys, don’t laugh at me…..” expression. And then he’ll reach up and scratch his belly. Some child will probably drag him home someday only to be smothered by his immensity. I don’t think that’s actually a word, but, there ya go.
…and look how adorable this is. My friend Tim sent this little guy to me, and I just had to feature him on here. I think it’s an owl. I think. I’ll pretend it’s an owl. That’s good enough for me!
Submitted by my friend Shawn R., this little guy is just TOO MUCH. He has no eyes. I love that he has no eyes, because I know that if he HAD eyes underneath all that, they’d be beady. He also has no limbs, which is very important. That Langoliers movie would be so much more interesting if it had been tons of THESE eating time and space.
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH I LOVE THESE THINGS. Yes, I know, I know, it’s not healthy for the mouse (the overly obese mouse is leptin-resistant, which caused it to balloon into The Cutest Thing Ever) but… but… Oh God it’s so cute. It’s so ROUND and beady-eyed and FAT and amazing. I can’t help wishing all mice looked like this And just think about the advantages! Ginormous obese mice can’t fit into the cracks in homes and apartments, so it would be the end of rodent infestations! YES I’M A GENIUS (I was reminded of these wonderful creatures by Steve C.)
My friend Brian R. sent this to me with the question, “are you also looking for product shots in addition to living animals?” Why yes, Brian, when they are this fat and wonderful, indeed I am. I think when I am old and gray, I will need to invest in some porch fatties. Or maybe I’ll just get some tomorrow.
